My BAFTA recap.

I’m pretty sure it irked EVERYONE, even those among the crowd at the BAFTA’s that Benedict didn’t get Lead Actor award and Sherlock didn’t get the YouTube award, it seemed certain that they’d both get the award for their categories going by the cheers they both received while the nominations were being shown.

I don’t know who Dominic West IS. And Celebrity Juice does not appeal to me. I guess me and the BAFTA judges and the British Population who voted for Celebrity Juice have very different opinions on what a ‘good show’ is.

Benedict deserved the award, there’s no actor MORE deserving in my opinion for being such a brilliant professional while at the same time maintaining being an actual decent human being.

So I hope he knows that he’s a winner in the eyes of his fans, and probably a good portion of the other celebrities in the crowd.

But a massive well done to the lovely Andrew Scott for winning the Best Supporting Actor award! Well deserved of corse, and the poor dear looked so nervous and chuffed, on the brink of tears! Aw. I’m not disappointed that Martin didn’t get it, he’s magnificent but they both deserved it equally.

Ahh Moffat! Receiver of the special award. And Matt and Benedict presenting it! Every woman AND man’s fantasy, both of those men within a few centre metres of each other!

But only Moffat could quote Sherlock Holmes to his wife AND Mark Gatiss and make it seem ‘cool’.

Sherlock doesn’t need an award to know that it is well and truly loved!

3PM

To all Sherlock Fanfiction writers whom don’t live in the UK.

In light of me laying in bed a sweaty mess until 7am this morning unable to sleep, I would like to point out that London, is in fact, NOT AT ALL always rainy. We do have good weather.

The thing is, we Brits have a tendency to complain either way, it’s always either too hot or too cold for our tender souls. I expect John and Sherlock would be much the same.

I live in East London, so I’m talking from experience; the sound and east of the country is in fact the warmest part of the country, and we very often have year-long droughts. We sometimes have less water per head than some places much closer to the equator.

However, the West and North are very very rainy. And with Global Warming, the North and West are getting wetter, and the South and East are getting hotter.

It jut irks me some when the majority of Sherlock fan fictions depict the weather as being horrid. I’d very much like some variety weather-wise!

This has been your daily helpful pointer from your favourite British Lesbian.

Ahhhhhhh.

So I just remembered that Reichenbach aired in America tonight. So now I’ve been irreversibly flooded with flowing tides of Reichenbach feels as well as Torchwood feels.

I think I’m dying is this what it feels like.

So much fictional tragedy in my life.

So little tears to cry.

Elementary related opinions.

Alright, my initial thoughts after the trailer, was that I’m going to give the show a chance, and I’ll keep my expectations low so that I won’t rage if it’s terrible.

Johnny Lee Miller is a wonderful actor, so is Lucy Liu. Johnny seems a mixture of Benedict’s Sherlock and Robert Downey Jr.’s interpretation, mixed in with slightly more emotion and empathy and…remorse, apparently, than I would see any Sherlock Holmes to be. This is me viewing it without rose tinted glasses, disregarding the BBC version for a few minutes.

But, Dr. Watson. I was hugely disappointed by what I saw. I love Watson, he’s the normality, our liaison with the Holmes world. I’m not saying Lucy’s interpretation is bad, it can’t be bad, thats why it’s an interpretation. But…I fear they missed a lot of what makes the Good Doctor still that recognisable character. Now you might say that Watson being invalided home from War, having a limp to be cliche’, but how do cliche’s become such? Because they’re good enough to be used so many times they become cliche’.

Now when I saw Joan Watson flinch away from a dead body, I wondered, what they were doing! Watson, wether man, woman, asian, white, black, orange, canine, avian, Dr Watson, will NEVER shy away from a dead body, that’s why the Doctor is so valuable to Sherlock. And Joan Watson got fired?! Fired from being a DOCTOR?! No! Dr Watson is a GOOD Doctor, he’s (or she’s) THE Good Doctor, another reason why he or she is so valuable to Sherlock. This Watson is someone Sherlock Holmes wouldn’t glance at twice, this Dr Watson wouldn’t dream of writing down their adventured, wouldn’t think of mourning 3 years after his death and then greeting him again with a dramatic loss of consciousness. This is not someone that Sherlock would panic over in The Sign of Four, for fear of him being almost injured. Joan Watson does not seem like she could handle Sherlock Holmes. If she can’t handle a dead body, how on earth could she manage Sherlock Holmes?!

However, I will refrain from harbouring a closed mind, I shall keep it open. But when I watch it, I reserve every right to hate it, as long as I have reason good enough to.

I heard PBS cut bits out of Scandal.

Someone care to inform me what bits they cut out? Just so I know how many times to shoot myself in the face. Cheers.

Awww look at all the Americans.

Hello.

You’re all laughing now. But wait two weeks until Reichenbach. You’ll all die slowly and agonisingly in a pool of your own tears withering away with anguish.

Much love.

Dear Sherlock Fandom.

I love you.

Yep, you heard me. I don’t know why I’ve never said it until now, but it’s true.
Even though we’ve had a rocky relationship, and sometimes I still have my doubts.

But my heart belongs to you, I just want you to know, that you produced the first piece of literature that ever made me properly cry, with both happiness and despair (excluding Catcher In The Rye…but that’s a given)

I want you to know that you make the most beautiful art, with the most dedication.

And oh you make me laugh! Your jokes are frequently the spark of my day, Fandom.

But, how can I forget the love you portray? Whether it is Johnlock, Mystrade, Sherlolly etc etc…your main message is always love, even if it is ill portrayed. Your message is always that of acceptance, of logic and knowing it’s okay to be different, to be clever in a word so full of idiots (because practically everyone is!)

So there you have it.

Sherlock Fandom, I love you.

Sincerely yours,

Izzy.
